[the next day, morning]
Me: Man I've overslept. Looks like there's no one in the house. [going to the bathroom] I really need a shave.
[while shaving]
Me: I guess that Elisha will want to go back to LA anyday now. It was a great break out from that envirioment, but I guess that I got used to that place.
[in the garden]
Me: [walking out the house] Hey, I thought that no one's home.
Kiefer: I thought that you left with Elisha.
Me: WHAT?!
Kiefer: I guess your not the only one that is supprised.
Kiefer: I woke up and saw her car driving away. About 7a.m.
Me: Damn I wonder what could have happened. Somehow I've got a bad feeling about it. Kiefer I don't know if I can ask you to borrow your car?
Kiefer: Nope you can't... [a moment of silence] Here [throwing me the keys] The blue mustang on the drive way.
Me: Don't worry I'll take care of it as my own.
Kiefer: Just go now and let me know if something is up.
Me: Sure.
[a few hours later, on the route to LA]
Me: What happened? It was so suddent. One night and poof. I don't get what's going on know and I don't like it.
[early evening, in LA close to Elisha's pad]
Me: [jumping out of the car and running to the flat's door] A card? What the... [reaching out for the card, then reading it] ''Rafał if your reading this my hunch was right that this would be the first place your looking for me. Don't worry about me I'm on the east coast doing some Hollywood bizness. I'll be back as soon as possible. [signatured with a lipstick]'' It has to be something more than bizness.
[on the way back to Vancover, listening the radio]
Me: [thinking] ...the things add up she went to bead early, but why do I get a feeling that something isn't right?
[phone ringing]
Me: I wonder who's calling. [answering] Hello.
Elisha: Hey, I'm just checking if your not panicing and make a full scale search party.
Me: I don't get it why did you leave without a word.
Elisha: I need a bit time alone and this was the opportunity so you know.
Me: Sure, but why do I get a feeling that I'm behind it?
Elisha: Not it's not that really, I mean bizness and the time alone is just a bonus. I need to center myself.
Me: Ok, so when are you going to be back?
Elisha: Well I think not sooner then on the weekend, probably... on friday. Damn I have to go someone is at the door. I'll phone you back. Bye
Me: Bye. [tossing the phone on the pasanger seat] That call certainly didn't make me more calm.
[later, thephone ringing again]
Me: Where did I toss that phone [looking for it] Here it is... [looking on the road] F*CK! |

[days were passing]
Kiefer: I don't get it. Dr. Johnson said he will wake up anytime and it's been almost a week since he said it. What's going on then?
Elisha: I'm getting more worried about him. [looking at me] There were a few times while I was holding his hand I felt him squeezeing my hand like his having a nightmare.
Kiefer: I guess you should go to the film company just today so they won't kick you out.
Elisha: Your probably right, but I don't want to leave him here alone.
Kiefer: Don't worry if anything happens your the first one to be imformed about it. Let's go. I'll give you a lift.
[on the way to the company]
Kiefer: I was wondering did you say anything to his family?
Elisha: To be honest I didn't find any contact info in Rafał's stuff. Then again I found this mag. [showing Kiefer some magazine with her picture, the headline is ''Canadian Goddess - her side of the story''] There's my interview and there's a text underlined "I think I was very lucky because now I can say I'm satisfied with my life...''
Kiefer: I guess this could be someking of a motto or something like that.
Elisha: Maybe your right... [looking on the mag]
[time later, at the film company]
Elisha: Hey, I just swung over to check if you kept to the end of your bargain.
CEO: Yep, I just hope that will be able to start filming next week.
Elisha: I hope so too...
[meanwhile, at the hospital]
Doc: Did Mr. Sanders, take his medications today?
Nurse: Yes, he did. You might want to check with me. I think his state is improving.
Doc: I guess I should...
[another nurse runs into the room]
Nurse2: Doc you have to see this. The man in room 109 regained consciousness.
[the three of them run into my room]
Doc: Sir, do you know were you are?
Me: Looks like a hospital doc.
Doc: I'm just going to examine you. [checking my eyes out and stuff] Can you move your feet and hands?
Me: Sure [moving my limbs]
Doc: Your one lucky man. The state you came here in was terrible, but I see your getting well. Now tell me do you feel any dizzyness or any pain?
Me: Just a bit tired nothing more.
Doc: Your friends will be happy to see you. I'll inform them right away.
[the doc leaves the room with one of the nurses]
Nurse: Do you want something to drink?
[minutes later, the doc comes back]
Doc: Your friends will be here anyminute...
Me: [suddently I black out and fall on the bed]
Doc: Sir! Sir! Nurse give him oxygen fast.
[about a half a hour later]
Elisha: [enters my room] Hey big boy look who's here! [moment of silence] I know your joking now so you can stop it. [another moment of silence] This is getting borring. If you want me to go just say so...
Doc: Ms. Cuthbert I don't know what's going on but he regained consciousness for like half an hour and the he just fall on the bed. This behavoir is very weird. One minute he was responding and the other just falls on the bed with no reason. |
